JEDDAH: An enforcement judge in Buraidah has ordered a Saudi citizen to pay SR445,000 as past and future maintenance expenditure to his divorced wife and children.
The ex-wife and children had filed a law suit at the family court against the man that the man did not pay any maintenance expense for her and their children for several years.
The court issued shortly a verdict in favor of the ex-wife and their children, but the man did not pay anything.
When the matter was brought to the attention of the court, the enforcement judge ordered the man to pay
SR270,000 as expenditure for the past years and a monthly maintenance of SR1,000 to each of his sons in addition to SR100,000 to buy a family car.
The enforcement judge also ordered the man to pay SR30,000 annually for renting a house for the children. The total amount of SR445,000 has to be paid in five daysand if he failed to obey the court order, he will have to face penal measures such as travel ban and the suspension of e-government services.
