Jeddah: The Jeddah 2nd Food Festival opened on a span of 30,000 square meters, with more than 130 companies and restaurants, offering everything from Asian to traditional Arabic cuisine on Wednesday in Jeddah.
The event aims to enhance the status of Jeddah as a tourist destination for local and international visitors.
The event also has more than 35 different entertainment activities for families and children, including stand-up comedy shows, theater, children shows and live cooking shows.
Mazen Batterjee, vice chairman of the JCCI, said food plays a very important role in cultural exchanges, and success of the first food festival in 2017 brought new participants this time around.
He said the Jeddah Food Festival, held during the school break, is an opportunity for the people of Jeddah and visitors to enjoy the hospitality of different countries.
He also said that the goal of the festival is to entertain and attract the visitors of Jeddah from around the globe to increase the volume of tourism to the Kingdom in line with Vision 2030.
Batterjee stressed the harmony between the entertainment and hospitality sectors.
Adil A. Munief Mohammed Makki, chairman of the hospitality committee at the JCCI, said that the Jeddah Food Festival is expected to become one of the most important annual events, with a mission to promote the Saudi hospitality industry, attract foreign and local investments, support domestic tourism, highlight local and foreign brands and support entrepreneurs.
The food lovers can have a leisure time with different cuisines, live cooking shows and much more.
The festival opened in front of Red Sea Mall on King’s road.
