RIYADH: Professor and consultant of infectious diseases Dr. Hayel Al-Abdali, who is also director general of infectious diseases at the Ministry of Health, has reassured that there is no need to worry about the Corona virus infection in Al-Jouf region.
Al-Abdali made the statement after making an inspection visit to the hospitals in the province, Al-Riyadh daily reported on Friday.
”There is no evidence of a new case of infection, and even if any case testing positive of the virus is found, it is only in those who come to direct exposure to a patient, so the situation is reassuring and that indicates the end of the infection,” Al-Abdali said.
Experts stress that the Corona virus is not easily transmitted among humans, and it happens only when the virus comes to direct contact with pneumonia cases. That is why we do not observe any cases in human gatherings such as Haj and Umrah or in schools and football stadia, they explain.
On a Hashtag, four health workers testing positive to the virus at the General Hospital Domat Al-Jandal in Al-Jouf was reported. Al-Jouf health department said in a statement that the Health Ministry’s Command and Control Center registered secondary infections of the virus in Domat Al-Jandal. The initial case was announced on Aug.5. It resulted in two infections to exposures at home and a hospital in-patient in addition to a positively tested case for one as a result of home exposure and four health workers at Domat Al-Jandal General hospital, and all are without symptoms, the statement said.
