Gaza has been without electricity since June.
IfNotNow is bringing the worsening power crisis in Gaza to light by reminding our community that Israel’s occupation and blockade bears responsibility for this. Meanwhile, our out of touch leaders have been silent.
Members of IfNotNow have staged creative actions across the country, from the Bay Area to Milwaukee to D.C. and Philadelphia:
Establishment leaders will talk about anything besides the occupation. We must do what they won’t. Will you help generate buzz for Gaza by forwarding this e-mail?
Some places in Gaza are receiving less than two hours of electricity a day in the heat of summer. Others are getting no electricity at all. People’s lives are being disrupted in extremely serious ways: from a lack of water created by an inability to power pumps to a lack of life-sustaining medical care due to a shortage of power in hospitals.
The mainstream media isn’t covering the power crisis in Gaza, and the Jewish establishment is doing their best to ignore it, but we know that together we can illuminate this issue. So take the pledge. And pass it on.
